INTRODUCTION
Your introduction must provide an overview of the selected New Zealand healthcare organisation including:
An
introduction of the organisation you have selected, including the
history of the organisation and current structure and people.
Vision/goals of the organisation and services of the organisation.
An introduction to your selected topic for this research project (e.g., absenteeism, occupational stress).
SECTION 1: Literature Review
The
Literature Review section should provide the context for your project
and state what is already known about the selected topic. It will
provide a review of relevant literature about the topic. In particular,
you should:
Elaborate on the importance of the selected topic based
on scholarly research articles that are meaningful and relevant to your
topic.
Identify and analyse the specific need for
change in your chosen NZ healthcare organisation. You may choose to
state, based on current research, why it is important to address the
selected issue (e.g., absenteeism, occupational stress) and what would
happen if the selected organisation did not address this issue
efficiently and timely. (5 marks)
Based on the literature review state your research question for this project.
SECTION 2: Research Methods
Elaborate on the methods used to gather the required data and conduct your research. It should include:
a)
Introduction of the overall methodological approach for investigating
your research topic. Due to time constraints and administration
requirements your study was limited to secondary qualitative research in
the form of case studies, text analysis or data analysis (describe one
of the following):
Case study: investigating a single case in your
organisation which represented the topic of your project in order to
evaluate the role of the manager in solving the problem.
Text analysis: providing an analysis of secondary data gathered from research articles, books and peer reviewed journals.
Data
Analysis: conducting secondary data analysis which refers to the re-use
of such (often archived) data by researchers other than those who
collected the original material. (2.5 marks)
b) Justification of the selection of this data collection method for your research.
SECTION 3: Research Findings and the Role of Senior Managers in Change Management
In this section, you are required to report your findings and include the following:
a) present a summary of the main findings; (5 marks)

based on your findings, evaluate the significance of current and future
roles of senior managers in managing change in healthcare organisations
as relates to your selected topic (e.g., absenteeism, occupational
stress). (5 marks)
SECTION 4: Techniques for change
This section should include the following:
Identify and evaluate the techniques for embedding change within your chosen organisation. (5 marks)
SECTION 5: Managing Resistance to Change
This section should include the following:
Discuss the resistance to change in your selected organisation.
Identify
ways to negotiate, propose, and resolve/reduce resistance to change in
your selected organisation based on current research. (5 marks)
SECTION 6: Implementation Plan
In this section, you are required to:
Develop
an implementation plan to facilitate strategic change in your selected
organisation. Your implementation plan should include a detailed
timeline.
SECTION 7: Strategies for Cultural and Ethical Issues
In this section, you are required to:
Identify
and discuss some potential cultural and ethical issues that may be
prevalent in your selected organisation and in the health and social
care sector in general. (5 marks)
Based on literature, identify and
discuss some strategies to address the identified cultural and ethical
issues in your selected organisation and in the health and social care
sector in general. (5 marks)
SECTION 8: Implications of the Treaty of Waitangi
In this section, you are required to include:
Identify and discuss the practical implications of the Treaty of Waitangi in the health and social care sector. (5 marks)
Identify

your selected organisation in relation to your selected topic. (5 marks)
