Assignment overview
Professions differ from other occupations in a range of ways, including the need for
qualifications, the professional standards set by regulators of the profession, and by the
expectations of the community.
In this assignment you will select and explore one of five case studies that relate to
professions. In your selected case study, you will identify an ethical issue or problem to be
solved, and the stakeholders affected. You will then review the sample correspondence
from one of the stakeholders and identify the spoken and unspoken messages. You will
then suggest the skills that would help the key char

Assignment criteria
1. Identification of ethical issue/problem and stakeholders, and explanation of effects.
2. Identification of spoken and unspoken messages, and strengths and weaknesses, in the
correspondence.
3. Identification of skills from the ‘Future Work Skills’ document and explanation of how
these are useful in meeting professional standards and resolving the ethical
issue/problem.
4. Proposed solution and identification of strength and limitation of the solution.
5. Academic writing (spelling, grammar, paragraphing, and structure).
6. Sources and referencing.
