Competitive advantage (CA) has little to do with access to technology. Enterprise systems (ES) are one of the most adopted technologies in business, it would be difficult for a firm to achieve competitive advantage (CA) purely on the basis of having installed an ES. However, companies do use their ES systems to achieve competitive advantage. Select three strategies to discuss how an ES can allow a company to achieve competitive advantage. Use two different industry examples for each strategic approach selected to support any discussion. For instance, a firm’s ES may allow CA to be achieved through a strategy that allows it to be a low cost producer, be innovative or be able to focus on a particular niche customer market.
